New Craft Room

I thought I would post a couple of pictures of my new craft room which is currently under construction. I took these photos a few weeks ago and since then the rook has been completed and the glass is in all the windows and doors. Just as well with the weather as it is at the moment!

Recycled

I'm back after a lengthy absence caused by family issues. Anyway, nice to be back in blogland again. A few days ago I received a new Next Directory and I decided to make a magazine rack from the sturdy box it arrived in. The shape you see is what I was left with once I had torn the top away along the perforations.
Firstly, I sanded the edges, then painted them with a mint green acrylic paint. Once that was dry I covered the inside with a plain paper co-ordinating the the striped one used on the outside (can't remember where I got it from). Then I set about covering the outsides with the striped paper. Once the pva glue was dry I stamped the sides with a range of foliage stamps from Lavinia stamps and Clarity stamps using two shades of green, two of blue and purple adirondac dye inks. The fairy and birds are stamped using black versafine. My current craft magazines sit in it nicely until such time as I receive updates, then they are filed away for future reference.
I'm determined to keep blogging on a more regular basis, health and family issues permitting!
Bye for now, Wanda

This one features stamps from a stamp sheet from Tattered Angels to go with their range of glimmer screens. The orange backing paper is from the Graphicus Decadent Brocade CD. All stamped with a selection of dye inks from Adirondak and the distress range. The sentiment is from the recent bird range of stamps from Graphicus. It's backed onto yellow and then onto a whiteA5 card although that doesn't show very well. Perhaps my borders should have been wider?I'm still really struggling finding my mojo. I suppose I'll just have to keep plugging away at it until I find it again!
Oh well, onwards and upwards.

This is my latest creation, a card for my friends birthday which is today. The image and sentiment are stamps from the Graphicus birds range and the greeting is a very useful Penny Black stamp. The background paper is from the new Decadent Brocade CD from Graphicus. I really struggled to make this one. You would think I would have come back from my workshops filled with inspiration - but not so. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and am itching to get on with the glimmer glass album I started there on Thursday and the bird book I started on Friday! However, I won;t allow myself to get sidetracked until I have done all the cards, etc I need for October. I really need to laminate the stamp sheets from all my newest purchases - before I go to Port Sunlight and buy some more!
Well, that's all from me for now. I will take some piccies of the things I created at Graphicus when I can and post them for you all to see.

This is the card I made for my card swap partner on the Rainbows card swap challenge. The theme was Everlasting Love. Stamps and papers used all from Graphicus. Adorned with a few gems. I hope she likes it!

Here is a card I made for my grandson's girlfriend who is 21 this week. The 21 is glittery but I'm afraid the scan doesn't do it justice. Stamped image from Sarah Kay and coloured with copic markers. Tomorrow I'm off to Barnards Castle to attend three days of workshops with Glenda and Lynn at Graphicus. I can't wait! Hopefully, next time I'm posting it will be to show you what I have created whilst I'm there and to show off my new-found skills.
Bye for now.

And here's another one! This tag is for Dragon's Dream TIO challenge 19 - "Up and Away". The stamps is from a Tanda Stamps set. The tree is from Clarity Stamps. Inks are dye inks. The aeroplane has been inked first with versa mark and then with denim blue adirondak and then clear embossed. That's it for today.
